ABOUT JAMES NOLE (JP)

James Nole is a licensed mental health counselor and psychotherapist.  He has several years of experience providing therapy to individuals and couples working through trauma and difficult times.  His training and experience are especially focused on childhood abuse and trauma and is currently receiving training through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.  He also has over 4-year experience working on the King County Crisis Line, helping individuals struggling with suicidal ideation.

James’s approach is grounded in relational psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy– as well as existential psychotherapy.  These approaches focus on how unconscious beliefs, patterns, and behaviors stem from our family of origin and significant relationships– and makeup who we are and shape the issues with which we are faced.  Through his trauma training and experience, he also understands the importance of the mind-body connection, and the influence of culture and society on our way of Being.  These relational approaches understand that trauma is something that occurs in a relationship, and thus requires healing through a relationship.  This kind of therapy requires a long-term commitment. James often receives feedback on how healing and meaningful it is for them to feel heard, seen, and approached with genuine care and authenticity.

Aside from the specialties listed, James works with individuals experiencing a range of issues– from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain or illness, degenerative health conditions, and nightmares or flashbacks.  If anything about Jame’s profile or approach resonates with you, please reach out for a free consultation to see if you might be a good fit.
